CJ Dahiya is an estate planning attorney at The Burton Law Firm. He works directly with individuals, families, and business owners to help them put clear, thoughtful plans in place for the future. He believes estate planning should be straightforward and personal, not overwhelming, and works closely with clients to ensure they understand both the structure and the purpose of their plan. His approach is practical, detail-oriented, and focused on making complex issues feel manageable.

Mr. Dahiya earned his Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the UC Berkeley School of Law, with a specialization in Business Law. Before relocating to the US, he practiced law in India for four years, advising clients on corporate compliance, business structuring, commercial real estate transactions, and business disputes. Mr. Dahiya has a detailed understanding of relevant business and real estate laws, and as a result, he is able to assist clients with business law and real estate matters, whether incidental to an estate plan or as separate engagements.

Mr. Dahiya’s background in estate planning, real estate, and business law enables him to guide clients through both simple and complex planning structures, business succession planning, and domestic and international asset protection. He regularly works with clients across a range of net worth levels, including clients with closely held businesses and real estate holdings. Mr. Dahiya’s broader experience allows him to anticipate issues that often intersect with a client’s estate plan.

Mr. Dahiya is a member of the California Lawyers Association, Trusts and Estates Section, and a member of the Sacramento Estate Planning Council.
