The Burton Law firm is seeking a dedicated, motivated attorney to join our Trusts and Estate Planning Department, a collaborative team serving high net worth clients, business owners, and international clients with complex planning needs.

You will work directly with the Managing Principal, a Legal Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Law by the State Bar of California, whose practice focuses on high net worth and business succession clients (local, intrastate and international); our Trusts and Estate Planning attorney, also a Legal Specialist in Estate Planning & Probate Law, with experience in a full range of trust and estate matters; and our highly experienced paralegal and legal secretary who support the department.

Your responsibilities will include assisting in all aspects of estate planning and trust administration, including business succession planning, managing trust and probate administrations, participating in client meetings, and, over time, developing and managing your own book of business.

We seek someone who is not only legally capable but also committed to excellent service and long-term client relationships.

Education and Experience:

• Active member of the California State Bar
• At least 3 years of legal experience, including 2 years in estate planning, trust administration, probate, and/or tax planning
• Experience with advanced estate planning techniques is strongly preferred
• Highly Preferred: An L.L.M in Taxation or Estate Planning, or Legal Specialization in Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Law is highly desired.

• A desire to grow within the department, including an interest in marketing and outreach through referral partners
• Comfort with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (required); LEAP for case and document management (preferred); and WealthCounsel for drafting

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000 – $130,000 per year
